18 We'll do an activity that will require you to apply the knowledge you acquired from chapter 8.  Bring your notes from chapter 8.  
19 Shadow Divers Test and wrap-up.  Final discussion and book return.  To prepare for this test, make sure you have read the entire book.  HW: Read chapter 9. TEST
20 Next book assignment: The Devil in the White City.  Get excited!  We'll do a worksheet on an argument in chapter 9.  "Think Pink"  HW: Finish the worksheet. Read 457-465. Chapter 9
21 We'll discuss 457-465 and read "One Picture" that follows.  HW:  Read the handout, which is also located here: Truth  You have to write an essay on media and its influence on ourselves.  It's due Friday the 13th.  The final draft must be submitted to turnitin.com.  Rough draft is due LP 25 for points. Read 457-465
22 Discuss "Truth" and read "Globalization" and "The Culture" in your textbook.  HW: Read "The Culture of Thin Bites Fiji."  
23 I'll return the last essay.  Discussion on "The Culture."  We'll discuss the essays you have to write on media and its influence and responsibility.  HW: Read chapter 10. 24 We'll read "Turning Boys into Girls" and discuss chapter 10.  If time permits, I'll let you read.  HW: Read chapter 15.  Write your essay for LP 26.  Read Devil.  Bring your visual argument.  The test on chapters 8, 9, 10, and 15 will be LP 29.  Study Guide Chapter 10 and a visual argument.
25 We'll share visual arguments.  We'll discuss chapter 15. HW: Write your rough draft of your essay. Read your book.  Spelling test on LP 30. Chapter 15

27 We'll finish discussing Devil.  We'll discuss a new argument and practice working through it:   We'll go over grammar questions for your essay.  It must be in MLA format.  HW: Read chapter 19 and TAKE NOTES.  Write your essays. Essays are due Feb. 18th.
28 We'll discuss chapter 19.  The link above will direct you to some online quizzes.  You'll get to plan with your partner for your fallacious skits.  Fallacious Skits  HW: Take an online quiz on fallacies. The test on the fallacies will be LP 31.
